What We Do...

PURPOSE:

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia, Inc. (SCFG) aims to improve the quality of life for individuals and families in Georgia impacted by sickle cell disease (SCD) through comprehensive, compassionate, and innovative integrative holistic services, education, and advocacy. We provide direct care and support services to individuals with SCD (from newborns to adults), including holistic and hematology care, education and counseling, support services, advocacy, and more. We serve the nation’s 4th largest sickle cell population. 

MISSION:

Our mission is to empower individuals with SCD to live healthier, fuller lives and reduce the burden of this disease on affected communities.

Who We Are...

The Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia, Inc. (SCFG) was founded in 1971 by the late Drs. Nelson McGhee and Delutha H. King, Jr. in response to the number of babies born with Sickle Cell Disease.
 

On December 27, 2023, SCFG celebrated its 52nd Anniversary.
